Fresh Mint Mojito

It all starts with fresh mint.

Here at FIFTY/FIFTY, we prefer homegrown. Mint really grows like a weed and as long as the soil can easily drain, it's a fairly easy indoor plant to take care of. Fresh sprigs from the grocery store will also do just fine!

Remove the leaves from the stems. You'll want about 1/4 cup of loose mint leaves. If you have a little extra, that's okay! Go ahead and toss them right into the base of your FIFTY/FIFTY Tumbler. We're using the 16oz, but you could also use the 20oz for a little extra room.

Next, toss one lime wedge into your tumbler over the mint leaves.

Now comes the fun part! Time to muddle. Do you know why we muddle? It helps bring the flavor of the mint, lime rind, and lime juice out so that your cocktail tastes super fresh and packs a flavorful punch.

Add two more lime wedges and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar into the base of your FIFTY/FIFTY Tumbler and continue to muddle until you feel you've gotten all the juice out of the additional lime wedges. No need to strain all that yummy mint and lime out, they'll add to the flavor and color of your cocktail! 

Next, fill your FIFTY/FIFTY Tumbler nearly to the top with ice. Pour 1.5 fluid ounces of rum over the ice into your tumbler.

Fill the rest of the tumbler with sparkling water, which will give your cocktail nice effervescence. 

Now is the most important part before taking the first sip. Appreciate the beauty of this homemade cocktail you've made and all the elbow grease it took to muddle up those flavors. You got in a nice little workout prepping this bad boy so now it's time to relax and enjoy. Lucky for you, you made yours in a double-wall, vacuum-insulated tumbler so you can take your time sipping and it will stay nice and cold for you until you've finished.

Mmm...just right.
